FUNDRAISING IDEAS:
First thing first: Do not let a silly thing like money, intimidate you and prohibit you from going if you really want to go! Help always comes when you are doing something good. Be creative in fundraising efforts. I’ll share some of my ideas that have been successful in the past:
1.) Send out a sponsorship letter to everyone you know! Try doing an actual letter as opposed to e-mail… many people won’t take the time to read the whole email or will delete it. Send an old fashioned letter; people are touched by this rare and ancient practice! I suggest including a self addressed stamped return envelope to make it easy for the donor to send you a check. 2.) Have a dinner party and instead of having anyone bring food, ask them to bring a donation for your trip of $30 or more (money they would easily spend at a restaurant). This gets your friends and family involved for our cause. 3.) Put aside a little something every paycheck. * I recommend putting saved money in a separate account, like a savings, that you do not touch or have access to an ATM with!!! Don’t touch the money you’ve set aside! 4.) We can hold fundraisers together—maybe a massive garage sale lot or something… let’s share ideas! I could use your help in this area.
