VACCINATIONS: Not necessary, other than your regular shots you already have (hepatitis, tetanus, etc.) since we’ll be staying in Rio de Janeiro and mostly eating in restaurants.  If you are planning to extend your trip and visiting the Amazon, then you might want to get some injection work done.   Many people traveling for the first time might get mild diarrhea, totally normal. Just bring along some Pepto or Imodium or your drug of preference.  Check out this site for more info: http://www.mdtravelhealth.com/destinations/samerica/brazil.php LODGING:             Details TBD.  We are exploring 2 or 3 hotels.  It will be a hotel that is clean, safe, on the beach, which has wireless internet, and breakfast.  IN-COUNTRY TRANSPORTATION: We will have access to a van for transportation to and from the orphanage.  It will pick us up and take us to the airport and everywhere we need to go. When the group splits up during free time, taxis are very easy to grab and much cheaper than US taxis.
